Hi! I'm sorry that I haven't posted since FOREVER.

That's because I've  been busy making a bunch for the shelter and been walking the dogs as much as I can before school starts. It starts TOMORROW! OH NO!!!!
Bigby would like to tell you that that means a bit less attention for him and that's not always exactly what he wants.


Well, anyway, I'm starting a new blog called Project for Paws! I will not be going to be posting on this blog anymore, but you can come over and read old posts anytime.
For those of you who are still waiting for there videos, I promise they will come SUPER SOON!Happy Labor Day!
I've hope you all (and your dogs) have had a great summer! I sure did!

 I just went to Heartland (where we got Bigby) last Sunday and brought a bunch of catnip toys from them to sell!!!

Catnip Socks! Yay!





Then Bigby went over to get Ruffles to play with.

 Then Krypto says, "Remember the rules, little bro, 'If  I can't play, no one can play'".



"But, Krypto!!! Ruffles is so cute!" Bigby whines with a lisp.

 Bigby sits down to chew his bone. "Ruffles likes to chew on the bone too, Krypto. See?"

My Morning

This picture is from a while back.
Not this morning.

Woke up at 8:25, checked on my snails, walked downstairs, let Bigby out of his big crate, got Krypto off the couch, herded them outside, held open the door for Bigby to bullet back in, go get their dishes, put them down and wait for the pups to gobble up their food in record time.

I now get on the computer and then see the weather. High 94.

Pool day. 

Tribbles

While brushing Krypto today, I realized that the big furball I got after brushing him resembled a Star Trek tribble.
Bigby thinks that Tribbles smell good. (He's obsessed with smelling Krypto's hair.)

Frannie's Awesome Afternoon

Rescue kitty Frannie was being so adorable this afternoon.

We wrapped the little snuggly kitty in my Sock Monkey sheets. They're pretty awesome... :)

I taught rescue puppy Bigby how to "wave bye-bye" a couple days ago. Cutest thing on earth. I swear.
Bigby waves up-and-down instead of side-to-side. But hey, everyone has their own personality when it comes to waving.
Er... at least Bigby does.

It's called No Shelter Here. I LOVE IT! It's very sad knowing what things are happening to dogs, but it just reminds you to give your dog extra love. 

It also tells you about great websites to visit that have to do with Animal Welfare and Shelter Dogs.
With each dog problem it tells you about, there's one story of someone who helps make the world a better place for dogs.

Today, my little puppy has turned six years old!!! Tomorrow, we're going to the pet supply store to let him pick out a toy.
I remember the day last year that I came home with you. It was the happiest moment I've ever remembered. You've been an awesome friend.
You make me laugh when I'm sad, never make me angry, and I love comforting and holding you and talking to you and petting you when you're scared. I love being your friend. I love making you happy. I love giving you treats and rawhide bones. I love... loving you.
Thanks for being my little sweetheart. Thanks for being my friend. Everyday with you is special. Everyday is a surprise with you--always a good surprise. Thanks for being my little pal.

SNAILS!

I'm sorry, I know this  is about dogs. I promise that I won't do it again. But, GUESS WHAT! ON MONDAY I GOT TWO SNAILS! I named them Katniss and Rue from the Hunger Games. But then on Wednesday or Tuesday (I forgot which day) I got a THIRD one! I changed all their names to Bean Names! So now, the newest one is named Pinto and the other two are named Garbanzo and Lima!
I'll post pictures in my newest post... THAT IS A PROMISE.
They ARE SO CUTE! The newest one is obsessed with carrots!! :) 

Best Animal-Rescue books of ALL TIME!

Rescuing Rover is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!!!

I think it is really meaningful and makes everyone who has a rescue dog feel awesome.
Rescue rover is non-fiction and probably one of the best non-fiction dog books EVER!






I also think that this book, Shelter Dogs, is wonderful too.
The author, Peg Kehret, writes lots of great animal books!!!!
I am really excited to get her newest book Animals Welcome.
Anyway, Shelter Dogs is a book of true stories about... well... shelter dogs. :-D
All I have to say about it is that it is AMAZING!!!










Another one I love doesn't revolve around the dog but it's still awesome. It's written by Peg Kehret, just like Shelter Dogs is.

Runaway Twin is SO COOL! I just finished reading it for the second time a few days ago.
I love it so, so, so, MUCH!
It is one of the most intriguing books I've ever read. I couldn't put it down... even the second time I read it.
It's about a girl named Sunny Skyland who's on the search for her twin, Starr Skyland. On her long journey, she finds a wonderful dog named Snickers.

This book is so great, you should DEFINITELY read it!

Thinking of getting a pet?

This quiz from Animal Planet, is great for anyone thinking of getting a pet!!
Pets, especially dogs and bigger animals, require lots of dedication and responsibility.
 Brushing or taking it to a groomer(if you have a pet that sheds or has long hair), and bathing it (dogs especially), cleaning up after it, feeding it, taking it to the vet regularly and most importantly ATTENTION! Also, dogs need lots of exercise, depending on the breed.
If you already have a pet and you would prefer a smaller one too (that your pets, like dogs and cats, won't eat!)

Try getting a snail!!! If you have cat(s) (and you're concerned about them eating the snails) make sure that you have a high space, that the cat(s) don't climb on, to put the tank on.

Dogs.
We're surrounded by them.
Hairy Retrievers and smooth-coated Beagles.
At the shelter they are stray dogs.
And at the dog park they aren't stray dogs.
They're with their family.
Who give them a home.
Who give them love.
Who give them the feeling of not being alone-
of being needed-
of being cared for-
of being happy.

My Video Idea

I am SO BAD with updating my blog. Really sorry 'bout that. I would like everyone to know that I am making each special dog their own video!
So Sulley will have a video.
And Bigby.
And Krypto.
And Lydia.
And Hayes.
And Woody and Xander.
All these dogs were adopted from shelters and are now in forever, loving homes.
I'm sure there a lot of other dogs out there that are in wonderful homes.
I'm going to get a couple more dogs too, I think.
But right now, I'm working on the videos and I think they can make a difference!!!

Chillin' out in 100s

Today is it's gonna be in the 100s! As we all know, doggies are not exactly found of that. But, yesterday evening Bigby, my rescue dog, was being ADORABLE (like always.)
